I'm a little slow on the uptake...just seeing this.

That is most impressive - the design and the execution both!

Hey Todd, glad you chimed in, and quite glad you like it.
Larry is quite the artist, isn't he?

Fair question, how about no abalone?
It'll still be unbelievable with that rosette.

Thanks Rod.
The Ren-Ovation (does that name work?) has been like pulling teeth.
The guitar body has sat around our shop far too long, in Bob years.
So, no pics yet, other than the rosette. However, Larry's rosette is pushing us over the cliff as far as really getting going.
Maybe not too much longer you'll see some pics.

Are you kidding?

That's the PERFECT name for it! (Though I might suggest removing the hyphen while keeping the Capital "O".)

"RenOvation"
Bending the Limits

That sounds cool.

Just as a nod to its design roots, you should consider putting an Ovation pre-amp in it like the VIP or Op-Pro Studio (my personal favorite).

It's a shame I won't be able to afford this guitar, but I'm looking forward to the finished product.

Ok, thanks for the encouragement, Patch!
If we can get Bob on board, then he's our uncle.

I am good with and probably prefer the electronics ... What about herringbone to make it truly different (if no Pearl). Koa bindings?

Herringbone? I dunno, Bob, doesn't that say "steel string" more than we want?
Maybe a wheat motif? (Close, but more like a classical.)

Ren-Ovation, or RenOvation works great. it's definitely a restorative rebirth to an applauding crowd. bring on a brand new renaissance!

Ok, thanks for the encouragement.
So--on the peghead--do we use the basic Ovation logo, put an "N" in front, and dub this the NOvation? Or N (and then an O with a diagonal slash through it) with "vation" trailing behind? Can you picture that?
Perhaps one of our Scandinavian brethren could type that out for us....
