Default K&K pure XLR crackling w/ phantom power

When turning the volume, or EQ knobs for that matter, crackling is introduced into my Fishman SoloAmp.

Any ideas on how to eliminate?

Thanks

He probably turned the phantom power off. The phantom power put DC voltage on the volume pot and that causes noise. Piezo pickups do not require phantom power and it probably isn't good for them either.

I have a d35 with a K&K. When plugged in to the XLR Pure, which in turn DI'd out to the SoloAmp, it sounds great. But if you turned the volume knob, you heard crackle and pop and static.

The solution was to take off the top, and spray a Deox type solution (mine is called fluid film) into the circular pot.

Worked! Solution was given to me by Kevin on the UMGF. (Omgeman?)

Sorry, I should have shared it without being asked.

Hi ™…

Not at all…just wanted to file it under "Troubleshooting" for future reference.
