Constructive criticism wanted!
Hey y'all! I've been wanting to improve my guitar technique and wanted some feedback from other acoustic players!
background - I mainly play rhythm guitar at my church, but I've been wanting to spice things up a bit since worship songs are pretty straightforward. I also have a DD20, and I plan to get a reverb soon (reverb recommendations?) In the video, I intentionally don't maintain a steady tempo as can be seen towards the end of the video. What other techniques should I incorporate or what can I work on to make my playing more dynamic? any feedback is appreciated! Thanks https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nkDyW3Crzdo |

I like it; interesting and intriguing technique. You should write/compose something incorporating that technique.

Sounds pretty good to me, just be mindful of mechanical noises.
I think any more reverb mi jumble up the mix. |

the best improvement would be not to have a hairy knee take up such a large part of the screen. The rhythm is good which makes me think you can do other rhythms as well but Ill suggest arpeggiation as one.

I didn't realize there was a play section, thanks! If any mod can move this thread, it would be greatly appreciated!

I'd go for a guitar with greater bass presence. Man, that would shine.

I'd have to hear your playing, in the mix, to give an opinion.
Busy/hammery rhythm guitar, if 1) right on the beat; and 2) in sync with drums and bass, can add to the feel, particularly when used in only parts of the song. For example, a chorus, later in the song, with no other instruments. I would definitely not play that style, all the way through any song. |

I really like it, sounds good!
I've always liked busy strumming, muting and percussive sounding rhythm playing. Nice! |
