Did he say "Power-shell" inlays (4:45)? Is it better than mother of toilet seat?

I was being both. I do hear the note seperation. If it was 4K I would buy one to try which is rare as I almost never buy new. I actually love the marketing strategy nothing to lose. Intro it in the presentation, 900 series, and Koa series which are lower volume models that are primarily purchased by collectors and such. If it is universally successful replaces the entire line, if not then it becomes an option.

there is no way that jazz guitar railroad type bracing can sound good, and it isnt new its just repurposed to a flat top guitar.

Went to the Taylor site and listened to a 814ce deluxe and then the new 914ce V class demos. They have the same wood combos just different bracing and make a good apples to apples demo. They do sound different.

It sounded fine - like a guitar. However, I noted numerous out of tune notes, probably no better in tune than any other well setup "traditionally braced" guitar.

Teja Gerkin shows off the intonation in DADGAD. You really have to be tone deaf to not hear the amazing tonal accuracy. I have not heard anything that comes close.
I must be deaf then. Sounded good don't get me wrong but like a nice Taylor. Nothing more than that.

Actually pronounced Pau shell, a type of pearl.

Yes, the difference is obvious, though with one 15 sec sample of one style, it’s hard to make any reasonable purchase type judgement. The new model sounds deeper on the low end, and then to get all flowery ambiguous, to me it sounds rounder and fuller in mid as well, with maybe some of the top end edge softenend, which is what I think some might refer to as the Taylor brittle high end. Like what I hear so far, but I admit as an owner of recent Taylor models, I am kind of annoyed because it does sound like an improvement. Can’t fault them for continuous pursuit of excellence, but it will make it harder to risk another high end purchase if it’s going to be bettered in 2 years again.

I honestly thought all the Taylor V brace bashing was getting old, but after hearing the improvement I’m kinda with the annoyed group. Probably for different reasons than the anti-T majority here though.

It sounded nasal and constricted.

I know it’s a video but, that guitar sounded thin and there wasn’t any depth to the guitar either.

I love it...not just a satin finish...but a SILENT satin finish. I'm surprised they didn't develop and use a "whisper glide" tuner on this model as well. After all, when "recording" you never want to hear that inferior tuner noise other guitars have.

Nice or not, it is getting crazy with all the the over the top marketing babble.

Yes, we're getting into Gretsch marketing schtick territory; I fully expect 'miracle neck', 'synchro-sonic' and maybe 'velvet touch' or 'tru-tone' to surface at some point

It's 'stealth finish' yeah, that's the ticket!
