Default Jesse Cook playin style

I watch these videos and the fingering…it mesmerizes me…I see his fingering in my mind’s eye when I’m playing and it makes me straighten my fingers more, practice rest strokes more…
But it’s a dream or vision to be able to play like that!!

Great time to start! And this little snippet is a good one, not too difficult, can really work on bringing out the melody.

Bringing out the melody line (if there is one) above the harmony notes is ideal. I use them (or at least thinking about pushing through a string rather than plucking essentially just near vertically).
In the example in the video doing single note lines is rest strokes to the extreme (usually with thumb resting on a lower string for support) which is not doable or practical doing blended melody line
and harmony notes simultaneously but you can still often bring out the melody line by an adaption of a full rest stroke and controlling volume of individual notes going on in the harmony.
