Dang ! They were early this month !

I didn't even have time to post a bogus "September special" thread this time

Nice looking bunch, bet they'll be gone in no time.

EVERY month's Select series is STUNNING! GORGEOUS! EVERY month I want one.

It takes every ounce of control to not push the " buy" button beneath these beauties.

Were it not for the fact that I have a custom X10 cocobolo nylon AND a custom X7 steel string for my better half on order I probably would have maxed out my credit card on the last 6 - 8 months select series.

I got up this morning with my usual routine: change the calendar, feed the cat, get the Blonde's coffee ready to start... then sat down to see what's going on in the world and turn on the computer.

Like others have posted, I was "Wowwed!" by the September Select Series - gorgeous guitars with the Pao Ferro veneers and amber back and sides. Alistair continues to impress with these striking instruments, and I like that we don't know when during the month each new Select Series will be released.

There was one other e-mail from Sean at Emerald: knowing that our home is in Texas, he took the time to send a note, expressing hope that we are OK. I was touched by that.

The Emerald folks are a class act.

Hey Sean and Alistair. The specs don't quite match the pics on the X7, the blurb says it's got gold tuners and Anthem p/u.

So if I buy it, I might hold you to that !

Hi Jon,

Thank you for spotting that. We have made the amendments.

Thanks,

Sean

Drooling . . .

As an aside, did anyone notice the harp guitar videos at the bottom of the page?

I wonder just how many custom builds come out of Emerald? Amazed again.

Very nice! One of the X20 veneers was one that I was offered when I was selecting my custom. Although it was interesting I didn't feel it would be dark enough. And although it did darken up some with the finish, I'm glad I went with my gut and stuck with the cocobolo veneer I ultimately picked out. Can't wait to get it!

I love the look of this wood veneer but this is the first month that it really doesn't work for me. The problem is the asymmetrical, odd shape of the bridge. The point at the bottom of the bridge is off center from where the two pieces of bookmatched wood meet. It really draws my eye right there. A symmetrical bridge design would have really tied this together. I understand that that's way easier to say than it is to do. In my opinion, with their current bridge design they need to stick with veneers that are not bookmatched.

Thanks for that, I had not listened to it before you pointed it out. The Synergy X20 looks and sounds great. Very impressive.
