Would you be able to connect this to a QSC or other powered speaker?

Almost certainly (I see a pass through XLR).

I can say that the One with the 10" bass speaker is much warmer & projects more bass than the Bose L1C that has an 8" bass speaker. It's a matter of physics & amp power. The One had a great crossover point also. It sounded to me to be more seamless than the L1C, but of course, it may sound different to your ears. Go test them at your local GC (if you're in the U.S.) & hear for yourself.
I agree with you TheShadowKnows, I am still suprised that it can work battery powered....

The JBL eon one was spec'd with a Class D amplifier: 250W LF + 130W HF.

So there was 250W for the 10" speaker. Of course using an 8" speaker will reduce the need for power... I wonder how much power do they dedicate to the low frequencies (LF). They could dedicate 0 W, the PA would still be 118dB SPL rated since it is measured at 1 KHz where only the HF speakers work.

On the other hand the Mackie Freeplay is rated 150W= 75W for 8" speaker and 2x37W for the HF speakers.
It works with 5200mAh Lithium-ion battery. It's specified to work 10h.

You can find a Lithium ion battery 7.4v with 10,400mAh (79.99$)

it's possible for the JBL to work 6h even with a 170W dedicated to the LF...

We will see. It may have more low mids than the L1C since the array is the same so the crossover frequency may still be 200 Hz.

I would've thought that the x-over point on an 8" with a series of 2.5" drivers would be in the 320-500 range. At 200hz they're making a x-over point that's a lot like how a 3-way 12" driver would typically be x-ed. I'd be concerned that this thing would honk pretty oddly, especially with a singer/songwriter style player.

Actually we don't know yet for the jbl eon one pro.

The jbl eon one had a crossover at 200 hz with a clear dip in the low mid... That the l1c does not really have. (From sonomag magazine measurements)

I'm not so sure it's worth fussing over the x-over point. The original seems to do a nice enough job, considering the price. And live sound is never as good as studio monitors.

That said, my guess is that the 8" speaker, new x-over point, and possible low cut, might improve the mid bass hole, to be more like the Bose.

I know it sounds weird to discuss about the xover point but with the Bose l1c you can really feel that the a big part of the sound comes from the floor... You don't have that feeling with the l1 m2 that has a 200hz xover point.

If the audience is far enough there is no problem. how much sound would be lost in their feet?

Anyway we don't know yet, let's wait for the information.

If you're a singer the x-over points make all of the difference. I've yet to sing through a 3-way speaker that I can stand because of it and a 200hz x-over point puts a hole in the curve right where I need a bit of a bump

Sale ended :-( Now it is $900 without the roller bag. However, this company is selling for less. They move inventory by calling it "b stock". I've bought from them before without incident. Be warned, it's a BIG shipping box.

Just when you thought it was safe to go back in the water.

LD Systems released two new systems:

Maui P900 (Wow!) [No, you cannot lift it. No, you cannot afford it. Yes, you'd like one anyway.]

https://youtu.be/WJFDKWM6pAg

Maui 5 Go (Nice!)

This is a brilliant little design evolution. It is the same as the current Maui 5 but they add battery power. The nifty trick is that they hide the battery in the lowest spacer for the array. Why didn't I think of that? It gets recharged from the sub, and will be rechargeable standalone so that one can "hot swap" multiple batteries - even in the middle of a gig!

I got my One + roller bag for nine hundred fifty four clams. That was on a price match at Candy Water. The first 'dude' I talked to told me "we don't price match because you get a 2 year warranty, free tech support, blah, blah, blah". I hung up & called right back with the price match URL in hand & asked to speak to a floor manager. The next 'sales engineer' asked what was up? I told him I could go right down to my local GC & get this if I wanted to, so dude... can you price match this?

After some academy award whining & complaining, they did it. I wanted the 48 month / 0 percent interest financing. GC couldn't even touch that. The guy DID want the URL of the site that was offering it at that price. So... GC won't give you crap about a price match if you have a legitimate printout or URL of the price. Candy Water will whine & moan & then most likely take your money.

I did get FREE shipping on the deal, which was great. And yes... the box it comes in is HUGE... ! It comes double boxed so that's a plus. Happy shopping! And FYI, I looked up on UPS the shipping costs to send the whole unit back for warranty work after the return period is over. It cost around 300 one way from my west coast location! That's insane! I only hope I got a well built system.

Good for you. I got a similar deal for mine. A little less than $900 a few weeks ago. It took a little negotiating.
