Team...Scott/Charmed Life is cranking these out now....I received my large brown tri on Thursday. I'll be comparing that against my current pick lineup....CL large tortoise tri, CL brown teardrop, Dunlop Prime tone, Blue Chip TAD 1r, and "mystery material" pick from CL. Hey Scott did you ever get those red picks posted up there? I don't believe I saw them this morning. If you can remind me again I think it's just a different color but the same material as one of your other picks but I can't be certain.

Since its introduction a few years ago, the Amulet M Dual Mono with adhesive is the newer model compared to the original Stereo system and barge cement. A few weeks ago, the truly NEW system is the Phantom powered version of the Dual Mono. Same tone but no 9V battery. These days all 3 systems are "easy install" with the adhesive instead of cement. I do recommend this easy install and can chat with you at length when the time is right- regarding which system to go with. I've installed dozens and dozens of them now, and my OM-28V has the Amulet M Phantom (beta) in it right now.

We've had them in for about two weeks, but we've been so busy filling orders. Ironically, I just took the first photos yesterday, not the best, but all I have. Here's one: |

I am really enjoying the brown pick from CL. As Maury notes it has a nice amount of flex, for those of us that don't use a thick pick. Last week I tried it for the first time on my 12-string and it was amazing. Scott, thanks a lot! Holland.

This material -- one of the first polymers discovered by mankind in 1895 in Germany -- is still considered by many plastics experts the most beautiful ever invented. Quick story: CLP was founded to make the brown picks. So why the tortoise and red? Truth: As a player, I fell in LOVE with this material. For the real tone-chaser, as I've been my entire life, it stands alone. This material is such a challenge to make into picks, and frankly, it almost hurts our bottom line more than it helps it; but what you read on our website is in fact true: I got into this as a PLAYER first, not a business man or an entrepreneur, and I will only ever make products I myself play and cherish. I'm proud to say that's a rarity in the pick business. If you had a dartboard with a list of the more than 200 industrial plastics in the world, you could throw a dart blindfolded at that board and any plastic you hit would be five to ten times more profitable than the stuff we make. I won't mention any names, cuz I don't roll that way, but there are some "premium" pick manufacturers out there whose material costs less than five cents per pick. Five cents. And they sell these picks for $5.00 to $10.00 -- and offer NO WARRANTY whatsoever. None. Like it's some kind of nasty word. One guy even INSULTS his customers on his website, as though the thought of backing up his products is some sin visited upon mankind, like a swarm of locusts. (BTW, one of our materials costs more than A THOUSAND TIMES the price of that five cent pick.) And here I will mention a name. Blue Chip. When we saw the respect and care they extended to their customers, we said, "We want to be like them!" They are the model for our industry, and they deserve your business, still, always. Here's the deal: Yes, they have fantastic products, but that is NOT the reason they've been so successful. Know what it is? They care for the customer more AFTER the sale than before the sale. That's how you build a great company, and they have. At Blue Chip, once they take your money, they don't run and hide. That's a company to emulate. We're just so proud to be part of the conversation, and tickled by the kindness of so many players and friends. That is indeed a recipe for success. Off the high horse, sorry, scott Last edited by Charmed Life Picks; 12-04-2016 at 10:01 PM. |

I'd like some of that Red Tortoise in a Large Teardrop, 0.95mm or so. Have some?

Right now, due to the preciousness of this material, we're doing standard 351 teardrops only in 1.15 mm. I do have prepped blanks and might be able to do a custom one for you for a nominal fee; however, we won't be going below 1.0 mm on these models. If interested, feel free to respond here in this thread, or email me directly at charmedlifepicks @gmail.com. thanks so much, scott |

Curious about Charmed life Picks for my acoustic playing. These have just come to my attention and are now on my radar. I have a Bluechip that is very nice. But I mostly gig with Dunlop ultex since they sound 'close' but I don't go nuts if I drop or lose one. I'd like to try a Charmed life Pick. Trying to decide which one to start with? I've mostly settled on 1.0 (Dunlop Ultex). Whatever a Fender Medium gauge equates to ..is too thin for me. Is there Charmed Life 1.0? Or is the .90 close enough?

Maury, question: Is there a certain kind of guitar these would work best in? I'm thinking my round-shouldered Eastman E-10SS, their version of the J-45 (adi over hog), or would this work better in a Yairi dread or a D-18? I already have a Baggs Anthem in my HD-28 and that's staying. Thanks! Scott |
