Talking Just grabbed a great deal at TAMCO

Just want to give you guys and gals the heads up.

I just bought a lovely Baranik OOm from TAMCO in the UK at 33% off the new price.

I think the sale runs throughout January so it's worth a look.

I didn't really need a new guitar!

Steve

Ah, the official lament of the AGF.

Congratulations on your new guitar. Do you have any pics?

Hey, Steven! Congratulations and welcome to the club! Like El Conqistador, I have 2 Baraniks, one of which is an 00m in Carpathian/Higuerilla, that I bought from TAMCO around three years ago. It’s a fantastic instrument that I am always thrilled to play and whose secrets I’ve not yet discovered in their entirety.

Which one did you get? Can you tell us the story of how a guy who “didn’t need another guitar” wound up pulling the trigger on the Baranik? It’s always interesting to hear what others find appealing in a luthier-built instrument.

May she bring you many hours of pleasure!!

Congratulations Steve! Excellent choice. And welcome to the fantastic world of Baranik guitars. I’m a Baranik owner too, a couple of CXs.

I just looked at the TAMCO website to see what you bought, was it the cocobolo and blue spruce one?

Hi Steve,

That is a fabulous guitar - I've played it several times - congratulations!! I don't believe you will find a better guitar than a Baranik anywhere - I find mine utterly inspiring to play.

I've been very tempted by Trevor's sale at the Acoustic Music Co....

Must resist... must resist... must resist...

Cheers,
David

Yes, this is a crazy good sale - very significant reductions. I have what I need currently but would be all over this otherwise.

Some of the guitars still available are amongst the best I've played. Always an astonishing selection of quality guitars available at TAMCO.

Cheers,
Steve

Hi David,

I just checked the TAMCO website, and it looks like the OP picked up the Blue Spruce/Cocobolo 00m. The Sitka over Manchinga is still available, apparently.

They also had a stunning Meridian that has been removed from the website and was sold during the sale. Did you ever get a chance to play it before it disappeared?

Yes, I try to play every Baranik that comes in . I really like the manchinga OOm too, and the Meridian was also awesome... I'm not surprised at all that it has sold!

The only one on that page I've not played is the custom order African blackwood / blue spruce Meridian... but I know the chap who bought it and hope to meet it one day. Mine is the one right at the bottom of the page. Hopefully Trevor will have some more of these superb instruments from Mike incoming!

Cheers,
David
