Wait, what if it is interchangeable guitar backs. Can't decide between rosewood and mahogany? Purchase the backs separately and interchange as desired.
Now, you can swap out rosewood, mahogany, or ovangkol on any guitar! Don't want to travel internationally with that rosewood back? Load up mahogany and don't miss your flight!

Tongue in cheek based on seeing Andy working on just the back of a guitar.

Yeah, "crooked bracing" is nothing new.

Just look at most Series 600 and 800 models. Most have "crooked" back bracing already.

Now that he's redesigned/revoiced the entire Taylor line, Andy will now instead be focusing on hand-placing the labels on all new Taylor guitars.

Could be but , Obviously the cross bracing is angled but that not is what I am looking at or gauging by, to me the label looks ever so slightly angled to the center brace also , slightly lower on the left side of the center brace and slightly further from the front of the back piece by maybe a 16th. or 32nd.
It could be just camera angle, and I could be wrong ,but that is what I see

Perhaps the innovation lies in Taylor's human workforce being entirely replaced by humanoid looking robots who're capable of building guitars at a much higher rate and can be made to build other innovative instruments after a bit of reprogramming. Oh no, that wasn't meant to happen untill 2020, I give up.

Maybe Bob Taylor developed a CNC machine that looks just like Andy Powers.

I’m guessing an all solid wood GS Mini with a 1 3/4” nut.

There's talk on the Unofficial Taylor Forum. The rumor is that the X-brace pattern is going to be replaced with some sort of radial bracing pattern.

And what if the shot was just staged for a photo shoot, and the label isn't really being applied, crooked or otherwise?

Of course I will pay attention to whatever they announce, but I have to admit that my interest in Taylor guitars has really waned over the last couple of years. Unless you roll the dice and custom order w/o electronics, nearly all come with polluted with the ES2 ( three holes thru the bridge -- seriously???). None of my seven Taylor guitars has an ES2.

For me, it is also too late for a Taylor ukulele (long rumored) since I recently bought a Blackbird Farallon, which will be my last ukulele purchase. Now that I have a pro-grade ukulele in a durable composite material, why bother with a Taylor uke? A couple of years ago I would have been excited, but no longer.......

I have one of those too (same year). And, like yours, it is staggeringly fine.

Except ....

... its label is straight.

The label in the video looks straight - the angles braces make it look crooked. Just my humble observation

So now we will have distinctions between:
- 1990's "golden era" versus NT neck
- finger joint versus scarf joint necks
- pre-Andy vs. post-Andy
- pre and post re-voicing

and...... wait for it.......

- straight or crooked label eras

Probably a high end Andy Powers line.
