Default "Old Timbrook"

I recorded my version of John Byrd's "Old Timbrook".

Played on my 1952 Gibson LG1.

Tech: Open D - guitar through its passive Fishman undersaddle pickup to LG1 Tonedexter image I made - vocal in Shure SM58 - both through Boss VE8 Acoustic Singer - A&H mixer - iMac.

Thanks!

I wanted to do a song with the Tonedexter and Boss VE8 to put things in context, instead of my ‘test track 56’ as I have been doing recently.

I am very pleased with the wavemap I made for the old LG1 - it really does sound like my guitar mic’d with my Neumann KM184. (The undersaddle on its own sounds.....horrid!)

Thanks Doug and Glenn!

For the vocal, I have to thank the Enhance knob on the Boss for making the Shure SM58 usable again.

The paperwork says it is a combo eq and comp to put the vocal ‘up front’. All I know is it puts the old 58 right where I need it.

i just started experimenting with the ve8.
I really like the effects on this unit . and
yes the enhance brings the guitar and
vocals "out" in the mix. which is really cool.
A little goes a long way.
the harmony section kinda of stinks. but maybe
i'm not using it right?? But so far the unit shows
promise and i've had some good compliments
on my sound from musician's in the audience.
Can't comment on the looper i don't have enough
practice wth it to play it out yet. A looper
can turn a good tune into a train wreck pretty quick.
If you don't do it right. LOL

Ah, I have been moved to somewhere else! Never knew we had a "Show And Tell"!

Thanks for the replies!

And the bite in the guitar sound is a good representation of the guitar in real life...ladder braced 52 Gibson! I can't believe there is no mic on the guitar! TD!
