Default Shredding on the fretboard...literally.

I've been real lucky to have had a lot of gigs this new year. I've never had this happen before, but I noticed during my last gig, that my strings have literally started to fray (check out the bottom string at each fret). It was such a great feeling to realize that I've been playing so much for this to happen and that I'm using the instrument to its fullest capabilities.

It is hard to tell from photos but it looks as if your frets are pretty rough. Maybe your strings have worn notches into them? If so, filing them smooth would be a good idea.
