SOLD - Custom Shop Martin HD-28V - MINT
Here’s the scoop folks…
1. I’ve slowly drifted almost exclusively to fingerstyle play, and find myself rarely taking a flat pick to my guitars any longer. 2. As I get older, I’m finding smaller bodied guitars are simply more comfortable for me to play. 3. I recently commissioned a very special new guitar for some time in 2015, so I need to thin the herd to raise some funds to help defray the cost of the build. This guitar is all you’d expect and more from a classic HD-28V…Martin’s most popular model. It is a 2013 Custom Shop build with a number of stellar and very tasteful upgrades, such as: • Adirondack Spruce Top & Bracing - current upcharge $546 • Ambertone Burst - current upcharge - $294 • Trance Audio Amulet MVT pick-up system – $319 (not including pro installation) • Abalone dot bone bridge pins – aftermarket upgrade $35 • Waverly #4060 butterbean tuners – current upcharge $126 • Strap Button – current upcharge $58 • Delmar Tortoise pick guard – current upcharge $94 This guitar is in absolute pristine condition and has been kept in its case in my properly humidified and smoke-free home. The tone of this guitar is classic Martin. It sounds beautiful when finger-picked; however, this guitar was meant to have a pick taken to it, and that is where it REALLY shines! With the Adirondack top upgrade, it would be impossible to run out of headroom on this instrument. The Trance Audio Amulet system is incredible, and easily the finest pick-up system I’ve ever used/heard…it truly replicates the beautiful acoustic tone of this guitar. Lastly, the Ambertone finish is simply stunning, and really catches your eye. As noted above, the original bridge pins (white w/faux tortoise dot) were replaced with abalone dot bone pins; but, the original pins are included with the purchase should you decide to swap them out (but you won’t). It truly is a great guitar, but something has to move to make room for (and help finance) my upcoming build. Thanks for looking...
