Default Acoustic Jump Blues anyone?

My first guitar was an acoustic but in the 60's I jumped on the electric band wagon as well. Eventually I gravitated to the blues as my major interest trying all blues forms both acoustic and electric borrowing licks and methods from each to form my own style.
One of my favorite forms is Jump Blues (the big band swing sound like the Andrews sisters). I had always played Jump Blues on electric as it seems the natural thing. The other night I was noodling on an acoustic and suddenly broke out into a full fledged Jump Blues rockin' jivin' swing and had a real gas doing it. Now I can't stop.
Anyone else playing acoustic Jump Blues?

That's one of my favorite genres of music too, but I don't think I've ever heard the term "Jump Blues". I haven't looked into playing this style on acoustic, since I'm more interested in flatpicking right now.

However, seeing this thread made me think of this ukulele video, and I thought you might like it, and might pick up some ideas. He's a uke player, so there's a little silliness at the beginning, but seriously, check out this video - I think it's great.

Jason,

Thanks for the reply. I checked your link and found the guy intersting. By the backround it looks as though he is playing in his prison cell.

Her's a link to Jump Blues I'm into:

Try it you'll like it. If you ever have to play in front an audience everyone will dig it also. Gets the toes tappin'

Best

I don't think I've seen any pure acoustic jump blues. It finds it's way as an influence into a lot of the retro acoustic bands though along with Trad. Jazz, Jug band, Western Swing, gypsy jazz. Check out Pokey Lafarge. He does a really good job at blending the styles and mostly with original tunes.

I think the style would easily translate to acoustic.

Thanks for the link. Pokey has the 1930's style Hank Williams voice and it suits the music he plays.
One of our local boys plays harp as good as Pokey's boy and my friend plays both electric and stand up bass. Hmmmmm. This could be dangerous.
Maybe "BluesBelly and the Boogy Back Boys"?
