I've been just trying to clear out a few odds and ends before starting a couple new builds. They will both be ladder braced concert models and both bound for the east coast by mid winter.
Currently I am building a banjo for myself and doing a couple of repairs. I want all the repair stuff done before I start anything else. I'll post pics of the banjo when I have something to show. |

I just completed a first round of finish sanding on the soundbox of a German spruce and wenge Arena (OM). It's a lefty, so that's keepin' me on my toes!

I'm working on an Oregon Myrtle guitar. Another 000 short scale. This one will have ebony bindings, Sitka top and herringbone rosette and top purfling.

I have several, but this one is closest to done. Its mahogany/ adirondack with black bindings. Top has WBWB inside the black. The rosette seems out of place now. I'm donating this guitar to the (VFMA) Virginia Folk Music Association to raffle off in September.

I just finished up the jigging and templates for a brand new Edwinson model, a OO sized fingerstyle guitar with the working name "Athena". I'm building the first one with primo Indian RW back & sides and a Sinker top, and it'll be a thirteen frets to the body, 25" scale, Venetian cutaway. I'm pretty sure the second one will be either black Gaboon Ebony or quilted Sapele back and sides, bearclaw Sitka top, Standard (non-cutaway), twelve fret, 24.5" scale.
Having a double-O in my line will round out my offerings to the full range of O, OO, OOO, and SJ models. I'm really excited about this new project, and thinking ahead to next year's Healdsburg. Really looking forward to seeing you guys down there with all of your brilliant, beautiful guitars. I plan on posting a build thread for the first prototype Athena, once I get some headway on it. |

Its just mocked up for the photo. Still needs a nut and frets and final sanding before heading for some nitro.http://picasaweb.google.com/11036027...55662003675762

I guess I'll just stick to building instruments and leave posting picturers to others if my next try fails
