I don't think you are dumb.. because of that. It is the part of music that .. to me.. is the learning curve. I am totally focused on a song that I love, and am learning it in bits and pieces. I learned enough of it to get the meat and potatoes of the fingerpicking and strumming down... and played it for the kids and a few adults at worship last Sunday. They loved it... but now each time I hear it, I am digging up the finer nuances of the guitar playing that I didn't notice so much before... and loving it all the more as I practice and learn those parts. I love being immersed in new songs!!

it'd take me 4-5 weeks to learn it and another 8-12 weeks before it was close to performance level.

Performance level for me isn't playing it for my wife and dog, it would be at an open mic or guitar gathering.

Barry - an easy version just popped up on True fire New! Brooks Robertson's Essentials: Boom-Chick Fingerstyle Etudes, but I like the version you are playing better.

That's not coming up in my phone browser or mobile TrueFire but I'll check it out when I can later, thanks! Oops, ok I found it. Thanks again.
