This is my first post and I have been lurking for a long time. Learned many things from this forum. One of them is about Halcyon Guitars.

Mine is #112 which arrived last May 2015.
Size 00 - 14 fret
Sitka top
RW B/S

I love it!

Now, for the eye candies

Default Halcyon

I have #158 on order which will be a MJ with lutz top and walnut back/sides.. My uncle has #159 on order which will be a NL-00 with lutz top and rosewood back/sides.. It offers us the unique opportunity to sample two completely different animals, built around the the same time.. We can't wait!!

I have a couple of them and thought I started a third build. Hmmmm. Anywho, I'll get the numbers off of them tonight. The first is a fantastic lutz over ovangkol OM with a long scale finger style neck and the other one is a Engelmann over Flamed Walnut MJ.

What a great idea for a thread !

I originally was not even considering posting, since I quite literally JUST got on Ed's build-list....... but I see a few others who also don't have their Halcyon completed either, so why not ?

Mine will be # 172 : a little blues-machine. A slightly shallower-depth NL-00, with the South American Mahogany top,back & sides.

I hope I can survive the G.A.S. ....... for 8 months !

And speaking of, Ed's Facebook page is a dangerous place for those prone to the syndrome. It sure got me !

Keep 'em coming.

Just finished the rosette entry, and I feel like I just walked out of "The Empire Strikes Back."

This is going to be an amazing piece of art.

I don't quite know how to explain the tone as there is nothing else that I have ever heard quite like it. It definitely lends itself more to strumming than finger picking. The guitar has good volume without being overly bassy. It seemed to have taken it a little longer to settle and start opening up than other guitars that I have owned. The first adjective that comes to mind is "clear". The sound feels very neutral and uncolored reminding me of Infinity brand speakers.

Hope this helps. Wish I had some recording equipment.

So it's pretty clear that the last line of that article was justified.

You missed my upcoming #169 (since you're looking forward:-) You've got good Halcyon representation there!

Upcoming is a nice way of saying many months away.

Default Lutz/Padauk 000

Mine (#107) is a 12 fret 000...25" scale with Ebony fretboard and bridge. And, yes, you can get them with a 1 13/16 nut.

This might be the loudest guitar in the house. I recently got an ivory Hiscox for her to live in...
