Default New (to me) Lowden S-50J - YOWZA!!!

I just received my new (to me) Lowden S-50J from Robin at Guitargal. It has an Alpine Spruce top and Zircote B&S. This is an amazing guitar. Unlike most crossovers, which sound anemic when played unplugged, this guitar sounds warm, and clear, and sonorous when played unplugged. I am really shocked by the tonal properties of this guitar. I expected it to be good, but not this good. And it is very playable. Easy on the hands, which makes it easy to play musically. I think the S-50J is a seriously under-rated gem of a guitar. I am so glad I snagged this instrument.

Hearty congrats! That's a beauty. The pics are still up at the site. That ziricote back is pretty stunning looking.
The most important thing though is that you got a guitar you love to play. That will make practice fun and exciting. And barre chords much easier!
Enjoy!

Congrats! I have always wanted to own a Lowden. I listened to so much Pierre Bensusan growing up. One day!

HI,
You've gotten yourself a great guitar. I have a Lowden S35J with a cedar top and Madagasgar Rosewood back and sides. The sound is wonderful and the playability is terrific. They are great instruments.
Enjoy!

Yes, they are! I am surprised they don't get more "press" here. This is a phenomenal guitar. I can play it for hours without any discomfort, which is so nice, AND it has a beautiful tone even unplugged.
