Thanks so much for the compliment Claytone. I use a Fishman Triple Play triggering several different synths... Korg Kronos, the VSTs I use are Omnispher, Sampletank and Garritan Aria.

I'll be doing more videos demonstrating these incredible instruments. The Emerald X20 will be next. Here is a video I did a while back with the X5. Please subscribe to my channel for notifications on new uploads. Thanks again.

Thank you Kramster. Your Amicus will certainly do it. I have a few tips for you. First thing, get those strings super low. I have sanded down the saddles on all 3 of my Emeralds to the point of nearly fretting out, but not. Next, I believe the Amicus comes from Emerald tuned to D standard. I find that to be too stiff for most of the barre chords I need to play. For that particular song I tuned to C. Lastly, use open strings whenever possible. It really makes for interesting chord voicings and smooth voice leading...not to mention it takes no effort in the left hand to play open strings. It will take longer before you fatigue, also your intonation will be better. You really have to get your Emerald to play effortlessly and it is certainly possible to get it there. Best of luck to you.

Now if this not a perfect example for bringing back the x5.... I do not know what is.... it is much more then a travel guitar. I miss my little critter and hope it makes a re-appearance for sales someday!!!

Hi Robert,

I viewed the initial video of you playing the Amicus right after you posted, but didn't have time at the time to reply and have intended to come back to this thread. I just viewed both videos again. I have to say that your playing is impressive and you get everything out that these guitars can deliver. They sound great in your hands. Both of these guitars are quite small, yet they sound big...amplificarion surely helps. How do you feel about their raw acoustic volume? I've read before that the Amicus sounds mandolinish. I'm not overly knowledgeable with mandos, but I sense that although the Amicus may lean in that tone direction, it's still a unique instrument. The X5, if loud enough would make an ideal travel guitar, though the Journey OF660 may be even better for that.

Btw, nice touch with the prominent display of the Emerald mug. Reminds me of when Kramster sometimes inserts Gumby into his vids.
