Default Drivetime by Tommy Emmanuel (On Classical)

One of my absolutely favorite Tommy compositions - a real tough song to play (this must have have been at least take ~40...... but very enjoyably tough when its moving and great to get a take that was decent - hope you enjoy.

Hi Steve, that was Excellent. This is one of my favorite TE tunes and you nailed it my friend. So great to hear (and see) your wonderful playing here on the AGF - thanks for sharing.

You did very well, Steve.

TE himself plays it at various speeds depending on the recording.

For having learned this piece myself a few years ago, it is a lot trickier than it seems and requires a good dose of stamina to carry from beginning to end. I spent weeks on it and was never able to deliver a clean version.

So kudos to you for mastering the beast.

Wonderful. Love hearing a well rendered Tommy song. I'm currently working on learning Hope Street, which will be my 15th TE arrangement (not counting To B or Not To B and Mombassa, which I've dropped because they ain't sounding very good!). You really nail this one. Inspiring....

I would nay say master as TE plays it with that weird hybrid pick method and thumb over the top enabling all kinds of little touches and flourishes (I honestly think this approach is convoluted but boy does he make it work) so I just try capture as much of that sound fingerstyle as i can - others do a lot better.
Its is definitely deceptively difficult and needs a lot of energy.
