Go to wholenote.com and do a search in their lessons section for "holiday music". They have maybe 4 or 5 very nice arrangements of some popular christmas music. The lessons are tabbed out and also include a midi of the song and you can adjust the tempo of it. Very cool site, lots of lessons/songs.

Oh, I'd also suggest Mark Hansen's "A Fingerstyle Christmas". The songs in that book are ranged from beginner to intermediate/advanced. Even the beginner songs sound full and complete. The more advanced songs like "Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas" are beautiful songs.

I just ordered and recieved his (Steven King's) Christmas TAB book. I think he uses TABLEDIT. Anyway the arrangements are easy to read and very well presented. They are pretty tough to play though. I'm thinking if I practice 4-5 hours a day, I should be ready to play one of theme by Christmas.............2010!

Yep. I think we talked about that last year or the year before.

Every year I hack away at that one and the Hanson one.
I am past the beginner stuff and moving on to the intermediate
arrangements. Good stuff!

I have also been using the single note melody book to help me learn the fretboard. I play the melody in first position, then play the melody entirely on one string, then play it in a different position, etc..
It is really starting to come together.

There's got to be a decent version of "Greensleeves" out there somewhere. I'd think that one would be great on a nylon string.

Frederick Noad has a nice version of Greensleeves in his 'Renaissance Guitar' book of classical pieces. It's not very hard to play, but the only downer is that there is no TAB (at least in the edition I have).

But it sure is a nice arrangement -I have yet to find on the I like better.

F. Cutting arrangement is the one most of us are familiar with. This is in standard notation, but easy to work out or enter into a tab editor.

Here's a quick, and rather perfunctory read through of Greensleeves. Capoed at the third fret to get it back into lute range. Short Greensleeves Mp3

Tuck Andress has some amazing Christmas song arrangements. You can check out the songs on iTunes.
