Ok all you Fall Limited owners.....
You have all given me a bad case of GAS.....
I just stopped into my local music shop and played one and now I must have it. When I picked it up I just said....WOW. What a beauty! They had a GA and a GS Coco/Koa and I loved them both. My question is which body is better suited for a flat picker/strummer? I have a 08 spring ltd 426ce in tasmanian blackwood and love it. But I gotta have a coco/koa too! |

You have the GA size already in the 426. How did you feel about each size a the shop when you played them????

Strummer and a flatpicker huh? Sounds like a GS coco/koa is the perfect fit for your style of playing if you ask me. The GA is probably a little more versatile in that it can handle moderate strumming and is small and intimate enough for fingerstyle... it's a good middle ground. I vote for the GS!

Well....
Well.... I have a GC Coco/Koa. I've played a Coco GS and IF I was a guy who played with a pick that would be my choice.
I heard the same GS Coco/Koa played with a pick and I agree with PhotoMat. Plus I've heard (a recording of) Photomat's GS Coco, and it was outstanding! It's a "do it all well" guitar for sure, so down that road, no matter what you play it's likely you'll be glad you have it. Those are my limited thoughts...

You are right! I get all messed up with the different names and numbers!
Here is a recording I did of my fall ltd and it is strummed and flatpicked (as well as a lot of other styles) if you are interested. http://homepage.mac.com/wm7n/ Just download the Fall Ltd recording. It is a big mp3 download

When I played them both, I felt more comfortable with the GS, probably cause I have the 426. They both sounded very good. I will be going back to play them some more and make a decision then! The good news is that my son just interviewed today for a job at the music store and if he gets on there he can get a discount! That will help!! Thanks for all the input! Oh, and BTW, Photo I listened to your MP3 and its great! When you recorded it were you plugged in or mic'd or what?

I had a condenser mic on the 12th fret and a dynamic mic about a foot out from the body of the guitar. No ES on these recordings, as I wanted to record just the guitars.
