2013 Gibson 1934 Original Jumbo
Easily the best modern Gibson I have ever heard or played. This is Gibson's take on the Martin "Authentic" line.... The brilliant idea that perhaps they should build a guitar in the way they were built before everything started to be built like crap. What a concept.
Mainly the top is cut thinner and all the glue is hide glue which makes it sound much better for those in the know. The body depth is also increased and the bracing is an exact replica of the smaller vintage bracing on a real 1934 OJ. The rectangular bridge has the proper "through" cut saddle, none of that modern drop in garbage. Man I don't know why they don't just build them all this way. The tone is completely different and most would agree its just superior. And the neck... its beefy and I love it. Its strong enough on its own so that the truss rod doesn't need to be tightened which always sounds better to those with an ear. Call me crazy... I love it. You can google the full specs on Gibson's website. This is 1 of 100 because lord knows they can't have that many of these out there or people might realize the old way of building was the best way... Sigh... Need to sell since its valuable and I have my eye on a vintage reverb. Its in mint condition with a couple swirls in the pickguard. Has a really cool case. $3,600 paypaled and shipped via Fedex to continental USA. I have excellent forum and ebay feedback. I will pack the guitar very well with headstock secured and string tension released. photos: http://imgur.com/a/JPNwc#0 |

I have had 3 of these !!! Great all sounding 1934 Gibsons ! I love them !
Some had adi tops some had larger bodys . But from my knowledge (also from Gibsons themselves) . They did "not" use hide glue on this model. Even in there Custom Shop. They are not ! Like a Martin Authentic 1937 I have one of those also! They do use hide glue ! Dont want to rain on your parade . I have had many a conervsations with Bozeman on this very giutar all verions of it. I may be wrong but I would check with Gibson . |

you are mistaken about this particular run of 100 "1934 Original Jumbo"s in 2013....
There have been previous runs that were not hide glue from earlier years like 94 and 03... from the Gibson site on this 2013 model: "All body parts are assembled with hide glue." http://www2.gibson.com/Products/Acou...nal-Jumbo.aspx Every Gibson rep on video talking about it says hide glue as well... see video here, skipped to the relevant part: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-P8bjDIgI0Y#t=133 |

I'll chime in because I'm familiar with the OJ models; there were some runs in 2003-2006 that featured varying specs, and those go for about $2k used. This model built in 2013 is different; it's not just a custom shop, but is supposed to be built as closely to the original 1934 as possible (including the masking tape on the braces). Anyhow, I know it's confusing because they're all OJ models, but they're not built the same way.
