I wonder what it will be.
53 years ago, I bought a Bruno Ventura Nylon string guitar. In my ignorance I had not realized I had purchased junk. The 53 years of aging has not improved it one bit. It is still junk. 60 miles south of where I live, in the Greenwood area of Seattle, is the Rosewood guitar shop. They specialize in nylon string guitars. I am on my way this morning, armed with $1500.00, wondering what it is I am going to be bringing home.

Rosewood Guitar shop in Seattle is a great place to shop for a nylon string guitar. No amps, electric guitars or even a cutaway. Strictly Nylon string accoustics. From $150.00 to well into the thousands. Sales person was knowledgeable, personable and never once tried to sell me anything. Showed me what I wanted to see, demo'ed it, then handed it to me. I did not count the number of guitars I tried but when the right one showed up, I knew it the moment my fingers hit the strings. It is a Alhambro 6C.
Cedar top, Rosewood back and sides, Ebony finger board. Here is a URL to see 3 pictures I have put on photo bucket. http://s842.photobucket.com/albums/zz350/13senior/ |

When I went into the shop, I was shown all the guitars by manufacture and dollar value. When I played them I did not take note of the manufacture name, only tone, projection and sustain plus a few other things. So I can't put a name to what I compared. Thier web sight shows what they have in stock. I can say that I played every guitar from $599.00 to $1495.00. The shop discounted the price a little. Still after adding a case and tax I had to add another $39.52.
I was very surprised to find out the guitar comes equiped with D'Addario Pro-Arte EJ44 strings. Great projection. A point of interest. 6 Months ago this shop was set on fire by a serial arsonist. They lost an adjoining building and part of the shop but they were able to save all the guitars. They have been back in bussiness for only a month. Last edited by bluesman3; 06-25-2010 at 10:48 PM. |
