Love that satin coppery finish and the nicely done sunburst - way cool! And I'm a guy who strongly prefers to see the CF weave on these guitars. And the sharks too. Mano (sharks) are very powerful spirit animals in Hawaiian culture.

Ted,

How do you think this compares to the Lucky 13 and/or the Kevin Michael guitars for modern fingerstyle? I don't strum, flat pick or play fingerpicking blues. Looking for a good carbon guitar that is not a 22" scale and OM size or smaller.

what carbon fiber guitar has a 22" scale? while I never tired anything that short, I'm very fond if short scales (even a 24.9 is a little long for me - most likely because I started on a Little Martin and am used to a 23" scale), so I'd like to find a carbon fiber guitar with very short scale lenght

I agree, 22" is tiny, even Emerald's X5 has a 24" scale.

Now, my Cordoba Mini, which is tiny and more like a baritone ukulele size, has a 20" scale. That is for the beach and going in the backpack.

Default 22" Scale

Sorry, I was a little obscure with my reference to 22" scale. I meant 22.75" which I believe the Cargo and KM Touring have.

That is correct. Our Cargo has a 22.75" scale, which I find a bit short. You could do the same on any guitar by putting a capo on three (24.9") or on four (25.5") --approximately.

I have never seen or played a KM, so no comment there.

I had a chance to play Al's first signature Rainsong (Actually, I think it was the second round of the first prototype) and it was quite fine. I like what they've done with this model. If I were to ever go carbon fiber, this would be the one I would go for. And, of course, I would buy it from Ted!

Best,
Jayne

Ted, what is the neck profile like?

My favorite playing guitar is the Santa Cruz OO with that deep V neck profile.

How does this new Rainsong compare?

I got to play one yesterday and it was love at first strum! It was loud, clear, resonate. Great action on this one.

If I was less than 100% my wife would shoot me, I would have brought it home.
