Default Setting pickup pole-piece height

This is a pretty good article on HOW TO SET PICKUP POLE-PIECE HEIGHT to balance pickup strength across your strings.

I just went through this on a couple humbucker equipped guitars and made a difference. Let your ears be your guide.

I have some uneven string volume on a few of my electrics. I've been wanting to adjust the pole pieces. This article will be helpful. Thanks for posting it!

Default Setting pickup pole-piece height

While it's important with any pickup, if you're a Gretsch player proper polepiece adjustment is absolutely critical to achieving optimum response and tone...

A lot of times when the pickups are too high it can make the strings seem like they have fret buzz as well as the magnets are piling the strings toward the pickups. I just do it by site and sound but, some like to take a little more technical approach.
