Default Ever heard of Dao wood?

I played an alverez dread the other day in a small music store where I live. I asked if it was solid wood and they said yea and that the top back and sides were made of Dao wood. That's a new one for me. I've never heard of it before but the guitar sounded fantastic.

A plywood imitation Koa. I played one once. Looked beautiful, but the one I played sounded terrible.

The dao that can be heard is not the true dao. Or so they say.

Dao?

Isn't that what Homer says, when something turns out badly?

Are you sure they didn't say faux wood?
