Welcome to the forum. I came across your guitars in Guitar Lair in Malaysia. I will be visiting there again soon and would love to spend some more time with your guitars for sure.

Welcome, from another, newbie. I love your philosophy (re - empowering artisans in north India) and, were I in a position to do so, I'd be ordering from you right now.

I wish you all the best.

I had the chance to play a few Dehradun guitars at Guitarlair a couple of days ago. Two had very nice handrubbed finishes and appeared to have been inspired by Gibsons whereas the third was a SJ that was clearly from the Somogyi school.

I will focus on the last one as that was the one that impressed me. Bearing in mind that it had just arrived from Dave Murray, the SJ was brand new but sounded open and had rounded notes. It was so responsive that I could already tell it was a great guitar plucking some of its strings while it was still untuned.

Being 24.9" scale and having a cutaway, it was very easy to fret and play and seemed balanced and loud enough for most applications.

I was quite taken by the guitar when playing it, but it was only upon my return home while playing my Bashkin later that I could detect a clear disparity in power and depth between the two guitars with the Bashkin clearly coming on top. However having said that my guitar is much older than the Dehradun which is brand new and this can be expected to be the worst that the Dehradun will ever sound, so I expect that it will only improve from this point onwards...

I have never heard of Dehradun guitars prior to that day but I will certainly keep an eye out for their guitars in the future as Dave Murray and his team are very talented and skilled luthiers from the evidence that I have seen.

Nice!
No need to ship east Indian rosewood across continents for guitar builds.
