Default Suggestions for Double OO All Mahogany

I have a budget of about £1000. What I am looking for is the following:

1) Double OO/Parlour sized
2) All solid Mahogany (although sides as good quality laminate would be ok)
3) 12 fret join
4) As traditional looking as possible (straight pyramid bridge, slotted headstock)
5) No cutaway
6) Minimal ornamentation. Simple or no binding.
7) would really prefer it not to be built in China due to human rights but if needs must. I'd take an Eastman if it was in budget but it isn't.
8) No electronics. Definitely no big preamps cut into the sides. Hate that. Soundhole controls are fine although wont ever be used I think.

I would consider other woods like all walnut or similar.

Am I being unrealistic? I was looking at a Fender Paramout PM-2 but that strap button on the upper bout is really putting me off.

Thanks.

Default Sigma 00M-15S?

It has laminate back & sides and I believe it's made in China, but I'll throw out the idea of the Sigma 00M-15S since neither of those were listed as "hard & fast" requirements. It meets all your other preferences.

Since your budget is in GBP, I assume you're in the UK and would have access to the Sigma line. I haven't played one, but I'm gassing for one and have tried to get one to my local store. They have a good reputation for quality control around AGF. (If you've tried one, let me know how they are.)

Have a look at the Recording King ROS-606, although OOO, https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=x2RGbEH3Ig4

I think it is a bargain.

Best, Peter

A 00-15M would come pretty close to your price range, wouldn't it? A used one for sure... great little guitar for the money. Lots of fun to play... filled with personality and that vintage-like mojo.

Hope you find it. All-hog 00s are some of my favorites!

Guild M120. Yes, it's made in China with a 14-fret join but it's all solid. Nice for those Nick Drake moments. The little Sigma OO has also been mentioned, and it is more 'traditional' in its appointments than the rather unique Guild. Both nice guitars. I have played both and if it were my money I'd take the Sigma. I wouldn't be too concerned about the human rights issue in China; it's no better or worse than ours in the 'enlightened' West.

It's not a 12-fret and doesn't have a slotted headstock, but it would be a pretty sweet option nonetheless. Does a custom 00-15SM exist? That'd meet all of the OP's requirements.

Oh, sorry... you're right. It's too early in the morning. Lol.

Yeah, the SMs might work, but I'm not sure the price fits into the range.

Alvarez parlor.

The OO-15M is a better idea though. That's a fantastic little guitar.

Why not duplicate post one in the classifieds as a "want to buy" thread and see what offers you get? Be sure to list your general location for shipping practicality.

Alvarez AP66 or Masterworks. Matches all of your requirements except is country of origin. I own the AP66 and it's a beautiful instrument with much bigger tone than its size would suggest. I recommend it highly.

Thanks for all the great suggestions. I'm new in these parts so had no idea about the want to buy area.

I so want the slot head that off key has but I have been researcging the cost if new CITES regulation. It makes a personal re-export just too burdensome.
