For the past 40 years it has been Nils Lofgren. I was a fan before he joined up with Springsteen. He plays finger style rock guitar.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0QQtHWBfQaQ A couple of months ago I got turned on to Pete Hutlinger from a great cover of Darcy's Guitar on AGF by glenwillow. I know Pete isn't under the radar to many on AGF, but his playing was a real revelation to me. A couple of weeks ago I was listening to a local guy do fantastic fingerstyle covers of pop songs at brunch. Then he played Darcy's Guitar! Turns out he knew Pete and is a huge fan. I highly recommend Glenn Roth if you like this style of playing. He is actually best known for having a lifetime license to busk in NYC public transit, which he still does, but his albums are wonderful. Funny, I didn't notice this thread. I just posted a thread about a guy I found on youtube who has hardly any views but I have really taken a liking to his playing and singing. He is definitely under the radar, but really enjoyable to listen to.
