Here's one so under the radar it qualifies as stealth technology. I give you Glenda Faye. I actually own this CD, bought anything with "flatpicking" in the title at the time. She just cut the one CD. As I understand it, she was under the tutelge of Chet Atkins. Make a good "whatever happened to" story. The gal can play.

I think Steve Baughman should be MUCH better known than he is. A super guitar talent.
And I think Harry Sacksioni is fairly well known in Holland - but definitely under the radar in the US. A really gifted player. Last edited by MHC; 05-27-2017 at 05:13 AM. |

I answered before but need to add: Kenny Vaughan! He's got the whole history of country, rock and roll, and rockabilly coursing through those hands.

I get the impression that a lot of people are unaware of master fingerpicker Ari Eisinger.

Cool thread. I don't think Alasdair Roberts is terribly well known. Scottish folksinger, reinterprets a lot of ancient British ballads, shanties etc (as well as writing some of his own stuff). I love his playing.

Do you REALLY want to hear a bunch of "under the radar" guitar players? Ones that are not (necessarily) well-known? That play guitar with with talent, gusto, and grace? Here's what to do:

Oddly enough, I don't listen to other guitar players or, to be fair, music at all. It's all unwanted white noise to me now. I like quiet whenever and wherever I can find it.
