STOLEN!!! Taylor 810
My mint 2002 Taylor 810 was stolen early Tuesday morning and the serial number is 20020301131. It was stolen in the greater Detroit area. I'm sick.

Call your home insurance if you don't play professionally. Most states cover it as an item of personal property.
Sorry, that's terrible. |

Hi JB, sorry to hear that. I see this is your first post. Given the circumstances I'll still great you with a "Welcome to the AGF".
Have you contacted local pawn shops? Check out Craigslist as well in surrounding areas. Let us know how it goes. |

I just went to CL and checked an add I saw in Northern MI for a very cheap price on an 810, but it said it was listed 20 days ago. I'll keep my eyes out.
Make sure your report it and call local pawn shops and guitar stores to alert them.

Rotten
The dung beetle excrement that would steal a instrument would steal the pennies from their dead mothers eyes.
I had two guitars stolen 1 year and 2 months ago. In my case they were recovered within hours. They tried to sell them to a local music store. They are now being held for evidence. Still gone. They may never be released, On a good note My insurance replaced them.

So sorry for that important loss.
Hope you get it back, or a big fat check from insurance, or you find a place in your mind where you move on without distress. |

That is terrible. I’m so sorry. Like others said, I would keep an eye on Craigslist and the local music stores. When you check craigslist, make sure you search using the “search all Craigslist” website. Also, keep an eye on eBay and reverb. I hope you get it back.

Thank you all for your suggestions and please know I have posted to local stores, Facebook, Craigslist, and the UTGF. My 810 was mint with the black tuner buttons and I miss it badly. Taylor was notified and their response was to note the SN in case of service and also sympathetic. Thanks to L20A for the reference. I'll post their also.

I hate to think this, but have you considered the possibility of it being an "inside" job - where someone knew that you had that guitar there that shouldn't have? I don't know the circumstances, but in this day and age, you certainly have to look at all angles.

I'm sure this is really disturbing for you in a number of ways, and I'm sorry for that. I hope it turns up. I"m afraid that's unlikely -- but it's not impossible, so, like you, I would be pursuing every angle, looking into all buy/sell situations where it might turn up. I'm sure that forum members in your area will be on the lookout, too.

Call the police, report it. Call all the local guitar shops and pawn shops, let em know, give em your info. Hopefully you'll get it back

Sorry to hear [emoji20]
Set up alerts for Reverb, eBay, Craigslist etc. If there is a 810 that could be yours such as locality, pretend to be an interested buyer and ask for serial # or close up of soundhole label to check authenticity, then you can see if it's yours. You could also put in a 'Wanted' ad locally, pretending you're looking to buy one, and see if the thief responds. I hope you get it back, there's always hope. |
