What the heck is a CMXGC28?
I bought what I *thought* was a Martin DX1AE. When I attempted to register it with Martin, they told me the serial number didn't match up with the style. I looked inside and, sure enough, it says "Custom X" above the serial number. So, I tried again. Success. The card says the style is a CMXGC28. What the heck is that?!

If it was too good to be true, buyer beware...
Spruce over rosewood HPL with a cutaway from GC. |

If it looks just like a DX1AE, and you bought it from Guitar Center, and it says "Custom X" on the inside label (white label) and/or above the serial number on the neck block, then it is GC's custom version of the DX1AE, and it's actual model name is: X1-DE (see: http://www.guitarcenter.com/Martin-X...15-i2429753.gc). It's exactly the same as the DX1AE. I bought my son one recently. It's actually a pretty nice guitar, and sounds great.

It's the model right after the CMXGC27. (Sorry, I couldn't resist)
