Can anyone identify this carved headstock or label remnant?

Hi,

I found this classical guitar at a pawn shop in the late '90s. Had always wanted one, so I bought it and have had it ever since. Never been able to identify it or met anyone who could. It has a nicely carved headstock that appears to have a 'G' carved in the top center.

Inside are the remnants of a label which has the following on it, best I can make out as follows:

"...NNINI S(?)A IND DE INSTRUMENT"

I'm guessing the language is Italian or Spanish? Not sure though.

I've attached pics of the headstock and label. If anyone can decipher the label better than I, recognizes the headstock, identify the guitar or maker, or any info really, please let me know!

That would be a Giannini guitar, probably from the late 1970's based on the images I see in Google. Giannini is a Brazilian instrument company. I can't comment on value, but perhaps if you google "Giannini classical" or "Giannini carved headstock" you can find a match that will put you on the path to further identifying the model.

Is there a serial number printed inside anywhere? Perhaps near the neck block?

Out of curiosity, were the tuning machines mounted backwards like that when you purchased it?

Yes, believe it or not, the tuners have always been like that. Who knows why!

You can find pics of this guitar using google image search on [gianinni carved]. I suspect someone flipped the tuners along the way. Not a lot of value, but sometimes they are good players. Most are laminated BRW and most are solid tops. This is probably from the 70's.
