MicMechanic issues
I have been using a TC Helicon MicMechanic for 2 years. I really like what it does for my voice.
However, it has recently started to fail to function sporadically. At a gig last night, it simply would not turn on. I switched sockets, then even switched wall warts. Nothing. This morning I plugged it in and everything lit up. I unplugged it and then plugged it in again. Nothing. So I waited about an hour and plugged it in and it lit up. I plugged it into another socked and it lit up. An hour later, I plugged it in and, again, nothing. Any ideas other than buy a new unit?? Steve

Sounds like it might be a heat related issue. Does it only run on a wall wart or can you plug a battery into it? I'd suggest it may be a dry joint that a a touch with a soldering iron would fix. Do you have any contacts in the repair industry that might have a look at it? I'm not familiar with the device so can offer no more than generic info.
