Default Great DIY preamp for K&K, BGM, JJB

Hi,

I have to share with you my latest DIY success.
This morning I finished soldering following circuit found in net:
http://interface.khm.de/index.php/la...-preamplifier/

I did only 2 modifications:
R1 = 1M Ohm
PT1 = 10k Ohm (for very low output pickups, 50k or 100k would be more adequate)

It sound just great
Very clear, lively.
Until now, I used "Tillman" preamp (http://www.till.com/articles/GuitarPreamp/) , but for my ears this one sound way better.
Circuit itself is a charge mode amplifier (opposite to most common voltage mode amplifier), which out to be more compatible for piezo disc type pickups.
Maybe that's the mystery?

PT1 is gain pot, so it's a good idea to add 20k volume pot at the output - then you can control gain and volume independently.

Anyway - highly recommended

Cheers,
Marek

Is the 1 meg resistor to match the K & K pickup?
