Please stop setting the bar so high! You're causing my GAS, which had been in remission, to return with a vengeance! Seriously Chris, that is really impressive. It has a very warm and inviting look to it already. Nice.

Are you asking me to dumb down my work? Ha! I don't think I'll be doing that anytime soon.

Everything has been sanded (and sanded some more) and the pieces have been fit together. This canvas is about ready for Mr. Lavin.

Enjoy your weekend!

That is beautiful, as usual Chris! I think the multi-ply neck looks great with the dark back plate and heel cap. The rosette, top and fretboard mesh together so well. Oh, I almost forgot to mention....amazing B&S!!! I assume the bridge will match the fretboard? Are you going pinless? I like it.

Yeah, I'm a dork...just went back and read the opening post...ebony bridge! I didn't notice the binding when I first looked at the pics. That is the perfect match! Great theme.

Mark,
As you figured out, the bridge will indeed be black ebony. It will also be a pinned bridge.

I was tempted to do a black and white ebony heel cap. I made one in B&W Ebony and one in Gaboon Ebony. I kept checking the look with each in place with the neck attached to the body. After looking at both for some time, I liked the classy look of the Gaboon heel cap.

While working on the maple neck, I observed just how easily it gets dirty. So before sending it off to be inlayed, I decided to seal it. It would have to be done anyway, so why not knock it out now? And while I was at it, the body needed to be sealed/filled too.

Let the transformation begin!

Whatcha think?

So cool Chris! That is a great pattern on that Ebony (neck looks great too!) and under finish it's really popping.

It is really great to see Maple being used for the neck. I noticed a couple other build threads using Maple. I love Walnut necks too. Great job Chris!

That Ebony has the most unique figure I've seen. Striking to say the least.

Beautiful neck as well. Going to be beautiful guitar!

Chris, it just keeps getting better! That back is taking on a pronounced 3-dimensional effect...wow. Did you know that was gonna happen? I love it.

The neck is still out getting some "embellishments". While that's going on, the body has processed through the finish room. Here's a look at the body with the final topcoats applied. It sits here to cure:

After the short cure time, the body is flat sanded and buffed. This is a single pass on half the back so you can see the immediate difference the buffer makes:

Now we wait...
