Default Do Everything Guitars Under $1000 - Mic, Plug, Raw

Hi,

I'm looking for acoustic guitars under 1000 that are solid to plug in,
put a mic to, or play as is in quiet places.
If it helps, I am not an aggressive player and do not use a pick.
I like to mix it up with finger picking and strumming chords.
I prefer new just because it's hard to find good used guitars in my area and I have been duped before with a lemon/fake/recon.

Thanks

Yamaha's L series was just mentioned in another thread. Pick your size: LL16, LJ16, LS16.

Seagull should have something suitable.

I've had good experiences with Yamaha, Alvarez, and Ibanez. I believe the Epiphone Masterbuilts are pretty nice also.

A Taylor 2XX-series E DLX on sale is around your price point, have played some that sound well above that price. At least give them a try, and play many before buying.

If you're looking for a good (sub $1,000) guitar that sounds good plugged in and amplified, you should consider a Taylor 100, or 200 series. I would highly recommend the 210e deluxe or 214e deluxe guitars. The Taylor ES2 is one of the best factory pickup systems, and they sound very good unplugged. They are available just about everywhere for right around $1,000. Good luck!

I can't believe I forgot to mention Taylor. Taylors are awesome.

Try a Larrivee L-03e. Swiss Army Knife of guitars IMO.

The Epiphone Masterbilts (I don't know about the new arch top line) and the Blueridge all solids are very nice. Blueridge would have dreads and OM size in spruce over mahogany or spruce over rosewood. I personally found the OM spruce over rosewood to be the one that suited me best. It is in my signature. The DR-500 MCE is Dread, Mahogany, Cutaway, w/Electronics. I have never tried either one miked up or plugged in.

That's a good suggestion. You can order a Blueridge through Maury's and he'll install the pickup for you. That's one way to get a cost conscious Acoustic/Electric.

If you have no issue of size, you might like a Breedlove Pursuit Concert/Dread Ebony .

My experience tells me that you will not find a guitar that can "do it all" at a high level of performance for less than $1,000... unless you get VERY LUCKY buying one used from a benevolent seller!

There ARE more than a few "reputable" guitars/brands that offer something for your price range, and many of them are quite serviceable... just not stellar.

Breedlove makes a Stage guitar.

i strongly advise looking it up as it may be the best deal you will find. The guitars are solid wood all the way through. Yes even

Seriously lok solid east indian rosewood back and sides and solid sitka top. comes with electronics and has some sweet inlay work on the neck.

Breedlove keeps these around 999 retail mostly due to the fact that they are assembled in China. Now you may not want a Chinese instrument however, breedlove does something no other company does. instead of these guitars being shipped directly to the retailer they get the guitars shipped to them in oregon where the luthiers there look the guitar over and do set ups and make sure the guitar meets their quality standards.

seriously look them up.
