My first was a hand me down import Tele from some brand called Regent. It was a Christmas gift given to my oldest sister @ 1973 and she passed it along to me in 1977. Blonde finish w/white pickguard and maple neck. It got me my start, but mainly taught myself most of things not to do with a guitar.
My parents bought it, and they have ZERO music/guitar knowledge, so Im guessing it came from a Sears/Montgomery Wards type of store. I have not been able to find any info on the Regent brand at all since. I no longer have it. It was made from plywood and both the body and neck didn't hold up over time.

My firdt electric was a 1981 Westone Thunder 1 in the plain oak finish, that I bought from the Janet Frazer mail order catalogue.
http://www.westone.info/thunder1.html A very heavy guitar, but well built, and it started me on my love affair with Matsumoku made guitars. Steve.
