FS: 1931 Martin OM-18 Another Price Drop!!!
Selling a well cared for 1931 Martin OM-18 restored to very good playing condition with what I believe is its original hardshell case. Mahogany back and sides with an adirondak top. Mahogany neck with ebony fingerboard and bridge. Headplate properly replaced with Brazilian rosewood. Older Grover tuners work well. Original bar frets. Ebony nut. Repro Delmar pickguard. Action at the 12th fret measures a nice low 3/32" under the low E and 2/32" under the high e. String spread is 2 3/8". Neck is just shy of 1 3/4" at the nut.
Refinished a long time ago at Martin, the OM-18 also shows the fine patina of age, suggesting this was done quite a long time ago. Other restorative work includes a headstock crack behind the first fret area (wasn't through the neck and nearly impossible to see), a crack along the treble side of the fingerboard extension, a splice around the treble side of the soundhole, bridge sanded down, new saddle, heat press on neck to adjust relief, long crack on bass side, and a neck reset. A lot of solid TLC went into making this vintage beauty sing, and it does! A fine representative of what these '30s Martins are known for, this OM has that deep bass, strong midrange and crystal clear treble and wonderful natural reverb that vintage lovers, well, love. Was $8750, was $8500 was $8250 ... now $8000 firm, plus shipping and ins of your choice. Bump for another price drop.
Motivated and looking to sell. Trades considered would be a Martin 000-18GE or 000-18 Marquis. 1935 'burst a big plus! |

Where are you going to find a '31 OM-18 at this price?
I know it's got repairs but there you are: all repairs have been expertly done. This vintage guitar is ready to go and tone wise, can hang with the best. |

Would it be possible to hear this guitar? I know that most audios and videos don't do these instruments justice, but it would still give us some orientation.

I'd be up for making that happen.
For starters I could record the thing on my phone and send the audio to anyone's email. |

Thanks, Diamondave. It does sound very, very vintage. Just like they're supposed to.
