These visitors are sure fun to see.

We have a Great White Egret that drops by our patio once in a while. He's absolutely silent, so he's just suddenly right there. He's about 3' tall, so he makes a pretty startling impression.

Beautiful pictures Bruce. Our spring is just around the corner. I’m starting to hear morning birds when I walk the dog. I’m ready!

Haha, you are optimistic or your definition of just around the corner is different than mine!!!! Just had 10 inches of snow Wednesday and today rain which turned to 1/2 inch of ice on the roads in upstate NY.

I hope you are right and I am wrong!!!

That must be amazing - love to see a picture if you get a chance.

I saw an owl land on a street sign a few years back - he made no noise at all when he flew off too.

Always love seeing your photos Bruce.

Question on a diff subject. Are there any snow areas in Australia?
I see there's a few downhill skiers in the Olympics.

I once read an interesting statistic - Australia has more snowfall than Switzerland.
I guess the trick to that is Australia's is spread over a much larger area.

Australia has several well developed downhill ski resorts, including Thredbo and Perisher in New South Wales and Mount Hotham, Falls Creek and Mount Buller in Victoria. Cross country skiing is popular in such national parks as Kosciuszko National Park and Alpine National Park and is also possible within Namadgi National Park and in the Tasmanian Wilderness. Mount Buller has Australia's largest snow village with accommodation of 7000 beds, and is the largest most popular ski resort in Victoria.

It’s all about the “glass” Tom. The glass might not be 1/2 full, but it has SOMETHING in it. We got 7 inches of snow 4 days ago, but rain washed it away yesterday. 40s & Low 50s this week - and February is a short month. Alternate reality helps me get through the last part of winter.

Yup. Nearby in northern CT. May reach upper 50's Thursday. Think spring.

Bruce, thanks for the insight. I learned something new today.

I would love to visit someday. I was about to when in my 20s but got sidetracked somehow.

PS: something totally aside. Are you familiar with the TV series Dr Blake Mysteries? We get it here in the Tri-State area (NY, NJ and Conn.) on public TV.
My wife and I are big fans.
