Crack in Fretboard
I just noticed the fretboard on my Recording King RD327 has a slight crack running along the top, near the middle. It appears to begin near the nut, then it gets slightly more pronounced and extends up 3 frets. Any ideas on what might cause this, and how to prevent it from getting worse ... or am I doomed? Never had this happen to me before, so I guess I've been fortunate until now.
Thanks in advance for you help!

Strange. Wood cracks when it dries out and shrinks, so that's the likely culprit.
Now, "why" that happened is hard to say. Most likely the fingerboard was much "wetter" when glued down, then as it dried it shrunk. But it is exceedingly rare to see humidity cracks on the fretboard before the sounboard. What wood is the fretboard made of? Can you post a picture?

Does the crack coincide with the truss rod placement?

I believe the Recording King's I've seen have trussrod adjustment at the body?

Yes... I have seen fingerboards split where there is a cavity for the truss rod. That was my first thought to consider as well.
