Default Christmas guitar

Pete whoever you choose will be very blessed. Let me know who you decide and I'm sure I have some gently used guitar books is be happy to pass along to them as well. I'd also be happy to throw in a homemade humidifier as I just finished up a batch of them. You're a kind man.
Thanks
Jimmy

I hope I am not out of line or stepping on any toes here, this is just a thought...

Maybe some of us has an extra set of new, non favorite strings laying around. How about we send them to Pete to send along with the guitar?

I have committed a set of Elixir PB Lights, Snark tuner and a 10 pack of picks.

Lets help Pete make this a very Merry Christmas for this person.

Whadya think?

Hey Dave, thanks for posting the pictures. Thanks to everyone for their kind words and offers to assist in some way. There were quite a few suggestions from the forum for people that couldn't afford a guitar. I'm working on "securing" another guitar or two to spread the cheer around. I'll pull the name(s) out of the hat tomorrow and notify those people. I'll need an address to send them to.

The name has been selected and the forum contact person has been notified. I was deeply moved by all the stories and wish I could fulfill all the requests. I have a couple of feelers out for a few more guitars so something else may happen. Thanks to all the forum members who suggested names and those that have offered to help with strings, tuners, music books, shipping, etc. Perhaps Christmas doesn't have to happen only once each year.
Merry Christmas Pete

Wow! That is so cool. I am a day late and a dollar short here but I am a music teacher in an underprivileged school. I use my guitar a lot in my music classes and I have been asked countless times by students for guitar lessons. I have one boy in mind that would loooooooooooove to have a guitar and he would use it too.

Still, it's a good thing you're doing here. Kids are the real victims when they are growing up in poverty. They learn very quickly that the answer is always "no" when they ask to join a sports league, join band or orchestra and even choir and choir is free. So they quickly learn to not ask anymore and they lose motivation.

I have a friend who's a hard working welfare mother with two daughters. One already has a school cello, the other is very interested in my guitars. I'd pay freight, some cash, whatever to get this got that baby. She is just the sweetest 8 year old that never has her hand out. It would, indeed , be a gift from the Lord.

Thanks

Ross

Smile A cavalcade of musical blessings...

Pete! You are rocking someone's Christmas. May the world enjoy more good music this year thru the help of all you beautiful AGFers....
May I suggest that everyone consider playing a time or two at a health care or senior or disadvantaged center of some kind this year. You might well find folks really listen and really appreciate your music! For those who have never gigged, do not be of faint heart. You will lift spirits!!!
Just be you and play from your heart as much as possible. Let the spirit sing thru you.
Cheers all and the best holiday season ever, and a super trip around the sun next year!!!
Peace, out
Paul

I was able to fulfill the wishes of three people this Christmas, one with the creative help of forum member Pete Walker. I received so much more benefit than the cost of the guitars. At the end of "Scrooged" Bill Murray goes into a monologue. He said, "there are people that are having trouble having the miracle happen to the them and you can help make it happen for them." I'd like to help make more miracles happen and keep Christmas the whole year. I have established a list of all the names that have been submitted. I can't do it all by myself but if any one wants to help perhaps WE can. If anyone wants to be part of "it" please send me an email. My PM box is almost full! Merry Christmas to All.
