I played this guitar a few days ago and was really impressed. He made a companion 12-string as well.

sounds great. very rich in the lower registers, and sweet in the upper ones (to my amateur ears).

And that clip doesn't show half of what that guitar is capable of.

If I knew, I'd start my own guitar company. Seriously, Tony is very talented and precise. He followed a hunch with this wood and it paid off.

I liked the 12-string version even more than the 6. Both are quite amazing guitars.

In the clip anyway it sounds a bit cedar wood mellow but with a little more dynamics and zip.
What price range are we talking about?

Yes, I think cedar is in the ballpark. The weight is the amazing thing - the guitars feel like they're made of balsa wood, they just weight nothing, and feel very responsive. Tony's guitars have always been a steal - I think he's pricing these at around $4K.

Thanks for the info Doug. Would a guitar neck made from such a light wood be stable?

Nevermind, I looked it up and it is dimensionally stable. However it is soft, so I would think an extra good hard finish on the neck would be a good idea.

It is much crisper sounding to me than cedar. My understanding re: pricing is $4000 for the 6 and $4100 for the 12. Contact Tony for confirmation.

Agreed, there's a definite punch to the sound. It's unique, so it's hard to really compare to anything directly. I'm not sure the recordings really capture the experience of playing these. There's a "feel" to them that is quite different. Very surprising guitars.
