I've mentioned elsewhere, the really remarkable thing is not that all of these folks have become world-class guitar builders. It's that they've maintained their love for the craft and for one another over the course of 40-some years.
They've all travelled different paths, but their regard for one another and their mentor ties them together in a manner that's all too rare these days. I've had the privilege of getting to know some of them. They are, to a one, funny, gracious, insightful, and relentlessly dedicated to their craft. I am genuinely proud to know them. I'll see you guys on the 7th. Jean, Linda, and I hope, the rest of the crew. Steve

... and a photo of some of G.W. Barry's amazing work. I consider Gordon to be the eighth member of the group, having apprenticed with Jean just after us ... and considering his amazing body of work as a professional luthier over the last 35 years.

This custom carbon fiber case (bonded with birch bark and leather) from the amazing Mark Kett in collaboration with Tony Duggan-Smith is one of my favorite things in the whole show!

Just found this on youtube. George and I lost touch for probably 25 years. When he popped over to my shop after all of that time it was like he'd just walked out of the room for a couple of minutes ... no exaggeration. George is the most down to earth likeable guy you'll ever meet ... and the best finishing expert you'll run into!
