I hear these sound great but break quite easily. Curious to see if you experience that same.

Might be interesting on a flamenco.

Doctor7,
The squeak from the Aquila Sugar Strings will go away if you rub some talcum powder on the pads of your plucking hand and then play. The squeak will stay away for a very long time. When it comes back use more talcum powder. Barb |

That is what I read and hope it is not the case for me... So far so good.

There is a Greek flamenco player that has done lots of comparisons between different Aquila strings vs D'Addario strings. You can find them on the Delcamp forum (his name is AndresK).

Thanks Barb1, I actually thought about it but don't have talcum at home at the moment. But wouldn't it leave all the neck full of powder? Have you tried that yourself?

Doctor7,
I tried this as soon as I put the strings on because I couldn't stand the squeak. I looked on the DelCamp Forum and found this as the answer to the problem. It works well and you don't have to do it often. You only need to put the smallest amount of talcum powder on the pads of your right hand fingers. Then rub it in and brush off the rest. I found no residue on my fretboard. Good luck with the talcum solution. Tell us if it worked for you. Barb |
