Default Dave Matthews Music Theory

Found this link describing some basic chord foundations for Dave's music style. Link

Very cool site. Nice interface and some good info. I particularly like the "Codex" page.

Thanks for the link!

"Dave Mathews Music Theory". Isn't that an oxymoron?

I'm a regular there (as is Oahu) and it is a great site for info if you are interested in learning some DMB. There is a comprehensive library of tablature and some videos as well. There are some excellent players that frequent the boards that are helpful as well.

very cool, I think this is helpful to any guitarist. I think it's interesting the way he uses 5-on-5 chords up the neck, it is reminiscent of a completely half-tone scale, and I've noticed he will alternate these sections with whole-tone sections like the chord progressions in "Tripping Billies". It's a pity that people don't spend time time looking into what he is doing to realize both he and Tim R. are very skilled.
