Cool Guitar Fretboard Software I Just Wrote...

Hey guys, I wrote a program today (in Visual Basic, not C because I'm lazy right now) to help me learn the notes on the fretboard, and I thought you guys might like it too.. it's absolutely free, it only took me about 2 hours, so, here it is: (requires Windows or a good Windows emulator, of course)

http://lopar.shamby.org/lopfrets/lopfrets.exe (click Save)

let me know what you guys think!

Cute. It needs to know that B flat and A sharp (for example) are the same notes, though, and that both answers are correct.

It's supposed to change those automatically... it depends how you type them in though... like, it recognizes A sharp as A#, and B flat as Bb... where you using the symbol for flat possibly instead of just a b?

btw... I also made a bass version:

this should be the last version.. this one is called mode 2, and it does the reverse of the other ones, it gives you string/note and you have to click on the right fret... i think this way might be more effective, but it's alot more frustrating.

just don't forget the zero fret, cause I've messed up alot of times because of that!

take care of her!

just curious why you wrote that....

there is a program called Fretboard Warrior already out there that is free....I use it and it is great.....
it also trains your ear, because when it highlights a note, it plays the note.

anyway...just curious.
