Larrivee D-03 vs. Guild GAD-25NAT
I"m just curious if anyone has played both of these guitars? My first thought would be that there would be no contest, but I could be wrong. Thanks in advance for all the opinions.
Just to clarify a bit, I am looking at a used D03 vs a new GAD-25 for close to the same price. This is where the comparison came into play. I've played several D03's and loved them for the price, but not played the GAD-25 at any point.

I've played both of these, and although the Guild's are quite nice and offer great value, the Larrivee is an overall better guitar IMHO. And by better I mean quality and sound.

I agree that the Larrivee is the best choice. I've had my C-10 Custom Larrivee for about ten years now and it is simply and incredible guitar. And virtually every other model of Larrivee I have played has been a well made and great sounding guitar where you get more value for your dollar than with any other maker.

I hear good things about Guid's newer guitars. I hear and say great things about Larrivees. With a Larrivee 03 series you get a guitar that's as good as just about anything out there, but without a gloss finish or bling. I prefer rosewood and ovankol to mahognay and sapele, but that's a matter of taste.

I also very much appreciate the Guilds from the past couple of years. On the other hand I am not much of a fan of the Guild GADs which are quite different guitars. I think the recent Guilds and the Larrivees are comparable, but I do not think a Guild GAD is entirely comparable to a Guild or Larrivee.
