Default A Fingerpicked Tune on my 2005 Gibson Dove

Just off the recorder!

A short track fingerpicked on my 2005 Gibson Dove cherry burst....

You may know it, you may not! And it may need to be turned up a bit....

There are parts of it I absolutely recognize, but I can't come up with where. Probably because it's so out of context from whatever the original is. There are a couple of places where there's a small phrase that comes up that I swear is sort of an off-handed vocal in the actual song, but I still can't quite get it.

Nonetheless, it sounds great and is really nicely conceptualized and played.

Thanks Ray!

In the spirit of the thread on fingerpicking troubles, I play the tune above with mainly thumb/index for all treble, and the strums are usually thumb down, index for up, same for lead lines. The brushes are usually an index finger rake upwards...

And a friend from another forum called me Reg.....

Thanks, that did it, and the title makes total sense now. And the little vocal part was, indeed, the little vocal part. I have sooooooo many little snippets of tunes living in the unused parts of my brain that when something calls them up, I recognize them immediately, but the database link between the snipped and the artist / writer / tune is often broken. But you're hint pulled it right into focus...

Nice playing! I dig it. And there is no mistaking that Gibson sound. IMHO, it was a great guitar for that piece.

Thanks Ray and jklotz!

My pawn shop Dove is a bit of a compromise - that sound versus fingerpicking room! In a perfect world, we would have a few zings more at the nut space and a extra 5 zings at the bridge spacing...it is a little bit cramped for fingerpicking, but do-able!

Hey BK, I recognized it almost immediately, but it certainly had your distinctive original spin as do all of your excellent arrangements!

Nicely done
